The warming up of SSD Newer NVMe involve pumping up the cooling system. Until what point ?
For a few weeks already, we have been talking more and more insistently about cooling solutions for NVMe SSDs. If they do not concern Mr. Everyman, these solutions are linked to the rise in power of the last generations.
Almost 8 centimeters high
While the first NVMe PCIe Gen 5 SSDs are about to arrive, several manufacturers are offering heatsinks to calm the heat. Thus Thermalright has just presented the HR-09 2280 Pro which is only 24 millimeters wide, but 74 mm high.
Such a template should logically make it possible to do without a fan on the heatsink, and therefore to be satisfied with the ventilation of the case. However, this necessarily condemns a PCI Express slot: the compactness of the NVMe SSD takes a hit.
Thermalright points out that the heatsink, made of aluminum, weighs 90 grams. He also specifies that a more compact version, 48 mm high, is available, the HR-09 2280. However, no release date or price has yet been advanced.
