Ivanka Trump: US President's daughter causes a stir with a bean photo

US President's daughter Ivanka Trump took a picture with a can of beans and received a shit storm for it.

Ivanka Trump (38), daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump (74), on Wednesday (July 15) a photo on Twitter published, which causes a stir. Then she poses with a can of black beans. "If it's Goya, it has to be good," the 38-year-old writes in both English and Spanish. The US president's daughter is now accused of ethical misconduct.

During a visit to the White House, Robert Unanue, head of the group that sells the beans, said at a press conference: "We are all really blessed to have a leader like President Trump." This hymn of praise again led to an enthusiastic tweet of the US President: "I love Goya!" Trump wrote. Shortly afterwards, Trump's opponents called for a boycott of Goya, which praises itself as "the largest Spanish-owned food company in the United States" and offers Latin American products.

Does the Bean Image Have Serious Consequences?

Trump did not let the boycott call on him and posted a photo on Instagram on Wednesday (July 15), in which he sits in front of various Goya products and smiles at the camera. Daughter Ivanka did the same. Do you now face trouble? Because, according to an ethics law, US executive employees may not use their position or title to "support a product, service, or company."

In a statement White House spokeswoman Carolina Hurley responded to the allegations. "Only the media (…) would criticize Ivanka for showing her personal support for a company that has been unjustly ridiculed and boycotted for supporting the government." Ivanka is proud of the strong company and has the right to express her personal support.

Chrissy Teigen is now buying other beans

Even US stars have already spoken about the bean debate. Model Chrissy Teigen (34) joined the boycott and has clear words for Robert Unanue's hymn of praise: "A shame", wrote Teigen on Twitter. "But it doesn't matter how good the beans taste. Goodbye." Also on Instagram, the model could not resist her opinion: "There are other beans. Shop responsibly," she wrote to repost her tweet.
