Jack Black: With "Time Warp" cover he calls for the US election

The US election is getting closer. Actor Jack Black and his band Tenacious D released an original call for votes.

The US presidential election will take place on November 3, 2020. Numerous US celebrities publicly campaign for their fellow citizens to cast their vote. Jack Black (51, "Jumanji: The Next Level") is one of them. He recorded a cover song with his comedic rock band Tenacious D, "Time Warp" from the cult musical "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". In the video that was published on YouTube, Black shows himself in costume, with a long-haired wig and a top that repeatedly reveals his bare belly. Tenacious D has also got prominent support.

Special guest appearances

Black's fellow actors Susan Sarandon (star from the original 1975 film), Jamie Lee Curtis, Ezra Miller, George Takei and Michael Peña appear in the video. In addition, American Senator Elizabeth Warren and her fellow politician Pete Buttigieg, who both dropped out of the running for the presidency during the primaries, are making guest appearances.

The special thing about the cover version is a changed line of text. In the original it says: "It's just a jump to the left / And then a step to the right". Jack Black and company sing and say: "It's just a jump to the left, and not a step to the right!" (German translation: "It's just a jump to the left and not a step to the right.") So it should be clear to whom all those involved vote: Joe Biden (77), the challenger to Donald Trump (74).
