Nike and Jacquemus create joint capsule collection

There has been speculation about this since Simon Porte Jacquemus’ 2021 winter campaign with Nike-esque sneakers, now it’s official: Jacquemus and Nike are pooling their more than hip design expertise and launching a joint capsule collection. After successful collaborations with luxury brands such as Dior, Off-White or Comme des Garçons, the young French label Jacquemus is now joining Nike’s hit collaboration. Together, American sporting goods manufacturer and designer Simon Porte Jacquemus aim to “expand and redefine the culture of sport for the next generation” and “reinterpret women’s athletic sportswear in a minimal way”.

The highlights of the 15-piece collection are said to include the “Humara” sneaker with a small Nike logo, a pleated skirt in the style of Jacquemus’ favorite tennis players Emma Raducanu and Naomi Osaka and a bucket hat. No wonder the fans on Instagram are already over the moon! Now all we have to do is wait and see: From June 28th we can shop the joint drop exclusively on Jacquemus.com, then from late summer 2022 worldwide in Nike retail stores.

According to Gucci, headbands are the new hair accessory

Can’t decorate your hair enough with clips, clips and headbands? We advise: get rid of it (at least for the time being). Because at the current cruise shows we spotted a completely different hair accessory: the headband back! Whether sporty or glamorous, hair bands are finally losing their little-girl image this summer and are being worn in the rocking version both by stars and on the catwalks up and down.

Headbands worn like a bandana bring a little 1960s nostalgia to the hairstyle. Numerous models at the Gucci Resort Off Season Show 2023 are currently demonstrating how hip the hippie look can be in colorful or shimmering tones -Summer style.

Hot or junk? Opinions are divided on this sneaker

It is not uncommon in art for works to produce widely differing public opinions. Last but not least, this gave rise to the famous saying: “Is it art or can it go away”. There are similar phenomena in fashion – who remembers sunglasses that had plastic strips instead of protective lenses or knitted sweaters with holes? And we don’t stop at shoes either. Balenciaga has presented its new limited edition of the Paris High Top sneaker, which can already be pre-ordered in the online shop for a whopping 1450 euros. The shoe is a classic high top shoe, but with one major difference.

The new luxury kick looks like it came straight out of the trash. Cuts, scratches, dirt and a sprayed-on logo give the new sneaker an unusual used look that doesn’t go down equally well with all fans. It is not known whether there is a sophisticated PR strategy behind the new Balenciaga shoe or whether luxury and streetwear are to be even more closely interlinked, but the new Paris sneaker will definitely not become a mainstream piece.
