Being a child of a famous person is not always easy. France, one of Jacques Brel’s three daughters knows something about it. On the occasion of Father's Day, the magazine Femina version met the girl the singer had with Thérèse Michielsen. Now 66 years old, she confided without taboo on her particular childhood and the absence of her father, too busy with her life as an artist. "I don't know what a father is every day. Unlike other men, he did not hide it. He was inhabited by something stronger than him " she explained, before telling that Jacques Brel didn't want her kids to call her "dad": "He asked me one day to no longer call him dad, but by his first name. We did not have a classic parent-child relationship."

Despite this, the little girl she was at the time admired her father: "I took it as it was. When he was with us, he was there. I loved talking to him, listening to his songs. " France Brel also explained that as soon as they went out to the restaurant, his illustrious dad preferred to dine back to the room so as not to be recognized and not to be asked for photos and autographs. Proof that he wanted to savor these rare family moments. If she suffered from her father's behavior, France maintains the legend today and heads the foundation Jacques Brel editions, that she has herself founded in 1981. Remarried, she is the mother of two children.
