Jacques Martin: the day he threatened to kill Nicolas Sarkozy


Jacques Martin was so angry with Nicolas Sarkozy that he even thought of killing him, as Patrick Sébastien remembers.

When Nicolas Sarkozy was elected president, he was on the arm of a certain Cécilia. The latter did not last long at the Elysée, the break between the former head of state and the mother of his children came quickly. The relationship of the former spouses began in a rather complicated way and almost ended badly, as Patrick Sébastien recalls in an interview for Yahoo.

“Jacques Martin was married to a young woman named Cécilia, and the mayor of Neuilly was Nicolas Sarkozy. It was Nicolas Sarkozy who married Jacques Martin and Cécilia in Neuilly. Except that, one day, Cécilia left with Sarkozy – the famous Cécilia”summarizes the presenter.

“We were there, we lowered our heads”

Obviously, the cheated husband was angry, and it’s nothing to say…”So Jacques Martin, it’s not that he wasn’t happy, it’s worse than that“, explains Patrick Sébastien. The presenter remembers the names of birds that his colleague then uttered: “‘What a fuck!’, …you can’t know! And we, we said nothing, we were there, we lowered our heads”.

Jacques Martin’s anger is such that he begins to threaten his rival with death. “And at one point he said ‘But that bastard, I’m going to kill him!’“, assures Patrick Sébastien. This is where Philippe Bouvard released a joke that immediately calmed the very electric atmosphere. “And there Bouvard, very calmly, said: ‘You’re still not going to kill the mayor of your children’. And we, it exploded, because the sentence, it arrived calmly! The situation was dramatic , but the sentence was so beautiful! ‘You’re still not going to kill the mayor of your children’. That’s great times“, remembers the host, smiling. A memory, we imagine, not so tender for those concerned…
