He was definitely in the wrong place at the wrong time: when Heinz K.* (61) wanted to go to her car with his wife in the Migros underground car park in Bülach on March 11, 2021, there was an ominous encounter.
An unemployed Serb lurked in the stairwell. When the family man turned to him, Sedat T. (36) hit him “completely suddenly and without reason twice in the face with his fist,” as prosecutor Andrej Gnehm summarized on Monday before the Bülach District Court. The 36-year-old hit his face twice with his fist. The then 60-year-old fell to the ground and suffered fractures in his wrist and forearm. According to the indictment, T. then kicked Heinz K.’s head with full force.
The public prosecutor demanded 30 months in prison and a short period of detention, i.e. inpatient psychiatric therapy, for attempted serious bodily harm.
“The public prosecutor’s office should be abolished”
The thug, who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, did not agree with this assessment: “I am very, very healthy,” he said to the judge. He’s sorry, but it was the man’s own fault.
The reason for the beating attack: Heinz K. did not keep the distances at the checkout in Migros, despite Corona. “I’m human too, wise. The public prosecutor’s office should be abolished,” the Serb continued.
“Nobody has to expect to be attacked by a savage”
However, the court did not comply with the Serb’s request. It sentenced Sedat T. as requested and sentenced him unconditionally to two years in prison. To this end, it pronounced a seven-year expulsion from the country.
That means: After jail, the thug will be deported to Serbia. “It was primitive revenge,” summarized court president Marcus Müller. “Nobody has to expect to be attacked by a savage.”
The court only refrained from ordering inpatient psychiatric therapy, which usually lasts at least five years. And this despite the fact that the psychiatric expert had diagnosed a risk of relapse. Because: Sedat T. had shown no insight at all to have a problem. The prosecutor summed it up as follows. “He doesn’t see that he has one on the waffle.”
