Last week, director Cary Fukunaga, to whom we owe the latest James Bond, Dying Can Wait, published a story on his Instagram account in which he criticized the Supreme Court of the United States for its questioning of the right to abortion, declaring it a war on women’s rights.

Actress and skater Rachelle Vinberg (Skate Kitchen, Betty) then reacted on the social network by commenting: “He posted this today, and it pisses me off because he’s literally making fun of women. It only traumatizes them. I spoke to many girls. Fuck you, Cary“.

In a video story interspersed with photos of her and the filmmaker, the latter adds “I spent many years being afraid of him. He pretends to be charming but he’s been acting like this for years.”

Aged 23 today, Rachelle Vinberg specifies that she had a relationship with the director, 19 years her senior, in 2016. The latter tells in a story in 2 parts pinned on her Instagram account, that Fukunaga was asking her to lie about their relationship and passing her off as his cousin or niece.

The actress claims to share her story in order to alert other potential victims to the behavior of the director.

Actresses Hannah and Cailin Loesch, who worked with Cary Fukunaga (he was a screenwriter) on the Netflix miniseries Maniac, lent their support to Rachelle Vinberg by also posting their testimony.

The twins explain their ambiguous relationship and the hold the filmmaker had over them. They specify “We weren’t raped, kicked out, or forced to do anything against our will“.

The newspaper The Times reveals actress Raeden Greer was fired from Cary Fukunaga’s True Detective series after refusing to go topless despite a non-nudity clause in her contract.

Contacted by The TimesCary Fukunaga did not respond.
