James Bond: what will become of Madeleine Swann? Léa Seydoux, her interpreter, answers

After the end of the last James Bond, Léa Seydoux confided in the fate of the character of Madeleine Swann, in the columns of Paris Match, from December 23 to 29, 2021.

Léa Seydoux performed Madeleine Swann alongside Daniel Craig for the first time in 2015, in 007 Specter by Sam Mendes. In 2021, she repeated the experience in To die can wait, released on October 6 in France. In the columns of Paris Match from December 23 to 29, she addressed the fate of his character after the end of the film.

She explained thatshe doesn’t really know what will become of James Bond’s companion and their daughter Mathilde: “I have absolutely no idea. I was called in at the last moment to take over the role in ‘Dying Can Wait’. So I have no idea what’s on their mind“. Léa Seydoux then confided in his experience in the film : “It remains a very beautiful human and artistic adventure. I’m glad the movie ended up being released, the secret held to the end“.

Madeleine Swann is unlikely to return in James Bond.

To die can wait is the 25th James Bond film and marks the end of the Daniel Craig era. It is so unlikely that we will see Madeleine Swann again while another James Bond will appear. Indeed, Cary Fukunaga the director of the film confided about the final scene: “It was to make a closure feel, as to close the past and history“.

If the identity of the next actor who will play Agent 007 should not be revealed before the second half of 2022, the name of Henry Cavill continues to circulate. The actor of Superman now 38 years old confided in the Sunday Times. He explained : “Time will tell. We don’t know in which direction they want to take Bond and so I like to say that everything is still on the table. One thing is certain, Henry Cavill would be very happy to be able to play James Bond in the future.
