James Bond: Will Léa Seydoux return?

Asked about a possible return of her character in the James Bond saga, Léa Seydoux said that Madeleine Swann could very well return to the franchise.

Is there a future for Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux) and her daughter in the James Bond saga?

Warning, the rest of this article contains spoilers if you have not yet seen “Dying Can Wait”.

As we know, Dying Can Wait was the last film in the 007 franchise for Daniel Craig. But what about the other characters in the pentalogy started in 2006 with Casino Royale?

Questioned by Deadline during the Telluride Film Festival where she was present, Léa Seydoux spoke about a possible return of her character in future films of the franchise.

After all, I’m not dead. It was James who died, not Madeleine. So who knows? Maybe I’ll come back. It’s like a bit of “fake news”, isn’t it?

“Who can say that Madeleine will not come back?”

But if we’re serious for a moment, at the end of the film, Madeleine leaves with her daughter because James saved them. There will be a new Bond because Daniel’s is dead, but who’s to say that Madeleine won’t come back?

The actress then moderates her remarks: “I haven’t spoken to Barbara about whether or not Madeleine will make an appearance in a future Bond movie, a lot has to happen before that happens. It’s just speculation“.

It is not yet known who will take over from Daniel Craig as Agent 007 and a reboot complete is possible so anything can happen at this point.

Especially since producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson recently announced that the 26th installment will be a reimagining of Bond.

Barbara Broccoli clarified “We reinvent the character and that takes time. I would say that the shooting will not start for two years”.

Léa Seydoux is currently shooting Bertrand Bonello’s film La Bête (adapted from the short story “The Beast in the Jungle” by Henry James), alongside George MacKay in Paris.
