James Cromwell taped himself to a Starbucks counter during a protest. That’s behind it.

Actor James Cromwell (82) has been a self-confessed vegan since the 1990s. As part of a PETA campaign, the “A Pig Called Babe” star has now caused a lot of excitement. The 82-year-old glued himself to a counter in a New York Starbucks branch with other activists to protest against the price increase for milk substitutes. “Dairy-free products all over the world … in France you can get these things at no extra cost. They don’t charge anything extra for them. There’s an exorbitant fee here,” complained the animal rights activist according to “Deadline” during the action.

Protest will be resolved after 30 minutes

“Why continue to offer dairy when it’s so important now to raise awareness of climate change and understand violence against animals? There’s no reason behind it other than greed,” the actor fumed. However, his protest was short-lived. The police are said to have broken up the action after just 30 minutes. Exactly how Cromwell was able to detach himself from the counter is not known. According to the report, however, remnants of the glue could be seen on his hands.

James Cromwell has been a vegetarian since 1974. In 1995 he played the farmer Arthur Hoggett in “A Pig Called Babe” and was nominated for an Oscar for “Best Supporting Actor”. During the filming, he then became a vegan.
