In late September, Metallica had to postpone their tour of Australia and New Zealand indefinitely. The reason for this was that frontman James Hetfield (56) had a relapse and had to go to treatment. Now he has shown himself in public for the first time. The 56-year-old was a guest in Los Angeles at the opening of the auto exhibition "Reclaimed Rust: The James Hetfield Collection" at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Ten sleds from his own collection can be seen there. Photos of the event show a radiant hetfield, with shorter hair.
At the end of September, Metallica tweeted, among other things: "As most of you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction problems for many years. Unfortunately, he now has to undergo treatment again to work on his recovery." Hetfield has spoken openly about his alcohol addiction in the past. His band members also assured fans at the time that they would return to the stage as soon as Hetfield got better. After his radiant comeback in public, fans have great hope. From the end of March there will be new concerts.
