Jamie Foxx has embarked on an “unexpected, dark journey”. After health problems, he thanks for the support.
‘I can see the light’: Jamie Foxx is grateful
To several photos, which show him in a summer outfit in a wooden hut, the 55-year-old writes: “You see a man who is grateful… I’m finally starting to feel like myself… It was an unexpected one , dark journey… but I can see the light.” He also thanked everyone who had sent him a speedy recovery and “good wishes and prayers”. It means a lot to him that so many people thought of him.
He didn’t want the fans to see him suffer
In late July, Foxx had himself for the first time in an emotional Instagram video talked about his hospital stay. He explained to his followers: “I went through something I thought I would never experience.” He knew a lot of people were waiting for news about his condition, but “to be honest, I just didn’t want you to see me like that.” He wants to be seen laughing, having fun, cracking jokes, making a film or a TV show – “not that you see me with tubes coming out of me,” said the actor, and then worried “whether I do it will survive”.
In the emotional video, he also reports that his sister Deidra Dixon and his daughter Corinne (29) saved his life. His family would have protected him by not letting anything outside.
The Hollywood star was admitted to a Georgia hospital on April 12, 2023. At the time, his eldest daughter Corinne announced that there had been a “medical complication”. Since then, there has been much speculation about the health of the “Ray” actor. In mid-May, his daughter announced that her father had left the hospital “weeks ago” and was on the mend. Foxx has kept the exact diagnosis a secret to this day.
