20 years ago, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan appeared in front of the camera together for “Freaky Friday.” Now they have met again.

It’s been 20 years since “Freaky Friday” came to German cinemas. The two main actresses of the comedy, Jamie Lee Curtis (64) and Lindsay Lohan (37) have now celebrated a small reunion to mark the anniversary.

Curtis has on Friday a shared picture on Instagram published, in which she can be seen grinning broadly next to her younger colleague, who is laughing openly into the camera. In the comedy, she played the mother of young Lohan, who was a teenager at the time of filming.

Another Friday with Curtis and Lohan?

“You’ve grown up and it’s so beautiful,” Curtis enthuses about the almost cute photo. She also hinted that she would love to make a “Freaky Friday” sequel: “Well, it’s Friday and the strike is over, so hopefully we can swap places again soon.” Curtis alludes to the fact that mother and daughter swap bodies in the comedy – and to the US actors’ union’s agreement with the studios.

Curtis had already said last year that she would like to film another part with Lohan. “There’s nothing I’d rather do than work with her again” – and now, 20 years later, “spend time together again,” she told People magazine. At that time she also revealed that there were corresponding discussions.

Shortly after the screenwriters’ strike began in the USA, which the actors later joined, there were reports in May that there might actually be a sequel. The Industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” wrote that another film with Lohan and Curtis was apparently planned and that author Elyse Hollander was working on the script. Nothing is known about the current status of the alleged project.
