Jamie Oliver: This is how his wife deals with the fifth miscarriage

Jools Oliver, the wife of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, has just suffered the fifth miscarriage. But the quintuple mom wants to keep trying.

Jools (45) and Jamie Oliver (45) are parents of five children. But as the British woman has now revealed in the podcast "Made by Mammas", she has long been dreaming of another baby. The youngest child to date was born in 2016. Particularly dramatic: Before this birth, she apparently suffered two miscarriages and then three, one of them only a few weeks ago – "this is the fifth," she says in the podcast.

Host Zoe Hardman also speaks to Jools in the podcast that she wants "a sixth child" next year "before her 47th birthday". Jools confirms it with the words: "That's right (…) I want to, but I also have to think about whether it's a good idea. Also physically, because I'm 45, soon 46. So it's a bit risky . "

And what does family man Jamie say?

Jools also reveals what husband and family man Jamie Oliver says about it in the open conversation: "Jamie is still there, somehow … not really," she admits. At some point Jool will also end: "I don't have much time, maybe another year, and then I'll just close this chapter, because I'm very happy and I'm pretty busy right now," she says. But: "It's a bad thing to want something again and again and not be able to get it."

Not everyone in her family likes to see Jools trying so hard to have a sixth child. She never even told her own mother about the recent miscarriage. She would have been too worried "mainly because of the lockdown". The second miscarriage was "very dangerous" for Jools herself, so her family didn't want her to try again. "You have five, you have healthy children, just be grateful," they say.

Jamie and Jools Oliver have been married since 2000 and have five children, Poppy (18), Daisy (17), Petal (11), Buddy (9) and River (3).
