Jan Josef Liefers will not work one shift in the intensive care unit in the Essen University Hospital. The head of the clinic rebuffed.

The “Tatort” actor Jan Josef Liefers will not work a shift in the intensive care unit of the Essen University Hospital. He received a clear rebuff for this from the clinic director Professor Jochen A. Werner (62). “Definitely not an issue for us,” said the podcast “19 – the DUB chief visit”. Previously, Liefers had announced in a “Zeit” interview that he had “already registered”.

The Essen physician Carola Holzner (39) asked all participants in the artist campaign #allesdichtmachen to spend a day in an intensive care unit via social media. For the professor, the readiness of Liefers is a “laudable gesture”, but it is not appropriate to involve the sick in this discussion.

The actor will certainly understand that. Anyone who has not yet understood what is being done in hospitals will not understand it even in one shift, Werner pointed out briskly. Such a staging is “unthinkable” for him. One must be careful that media interests do not conflict with patient interests.
