Jane Seymour gave an interview to our colleagues from France Sunday in which she talks about her career. The opportunity to learn more about this embarrassing moment that she experienced during a legendary sequence shot in a James Bond film.
Like most jobs, acting has its pros and cons. Among the moments dreaded by many actors is when they had to play an intimate scene. A situation that can become a real source of stress, sometimes going so far as to deprive actors and actresses of their means. It’s all the more difficult for young actors who indulge in an erotic sequence for the first time with their on-screen partner.
A box through which many actors have passed, even the most experienced as is the case of Jane Seymour. The interpreter of Dr Quinn, in the iconic 1990s series, did indeed have a very awkward moment while filming early in its career. The facts that marked the actress now 72 years old occurred in 1973 on the set of the eighth part of the saga james bond entitled Live and Let Die. Additional difficulty, the age gap between the young woman and her stage partner, Roger Moore. “I was 20 when I shot this James Bond. Roger Moore was much older than me. I remember my first time with him on the set”, continues the actress. The script provided that Jane Seymour kisses the interpreter of the most famous secret agent in the world on the mouth under the gaze of his wife, present to attend the filming. Roger was so uncomfortable and so shy that we had to redo the take dozens of times. I ended up falling asleep during the many breaks”, says the actress.
