For twelve years, Janin Ullmann and her husband Kostja Ullmann were the absolute dream couple. But in 2018 everything is suddenly over. In an emotional interview, she revealed how difficult the separation was for Janin.
Janin Ullmann, 40, fascinated an audience of millions with “Let’s Dance” with her contemporary. A performance that was much more than just a dance. The presenter embodied her pain and danced the emotions of her difficult separation from her soul. In an interview with RTL, she speaks more openly than ever about the marriage with her husband Kostja Ullmann, 37, and how she managed to look ahead.
Kostja and Janin Ullmann were a couple for 12 years
In 2016, Janin and Kostja Ullmann married after ten years of relationship. “Of course I thought that we were doing the whole classic […] with house and children, dogs and chickens – that’s kind of how I imagined it,” says the 40-year-old. A common vision, as she assures. It was this intense connection that would have been there from the first second.
“Actually, we got to know each other and from then on we were together. That evening we chatted until 6 a.m. Then it was very clear. There were no more questions about it.” An encounter that would not happen so often in life – Janin Ullmann is sure of that. Today it is difficult for the “Let’s Dance” candidate to only pronounce the name of her former great love.
Janin Ullmann is clearly struggling with her emotions
“My self-esteem was definitely broken,” admits Ullmann today. At that time, Janin got professional help so that she didn’t have to pick up the shards of her failed marriage on her own. A good and important step. This is how she managed to build up her self-esteem – but above all herself – bit by bit.
How did the separation come about? According to the entertainer, it came slowly. A process that the former “Viva” presenter did not want to admit. But at some point the couple could no longer “grip” each other. The trust was always there, but the love was missing at some point.
Nevertheless, the special connection between the two celebrities will never break: Janin and Kostja Ullmann are still in contact today and maintain a friendly relationship with each other. The two are not officially divorced.
