For a long time Janni Kusmagk was on the board as a professional surfer and was in better shape than ever before. Nevertheless, the former competitive athlete felt uncomfortable in her body. She reveals the reason for this in a podcast.
Many know Janni Kusmagk, 31, from the show “Adam sucht Eva”, in which she met and fell in love with her current husband Peer Kusmagk, 46. However, only a few people know that the now 31-year-old was a professional surfer on the waves of our seas for a long time. In an interview with Desiree Nick, 65, she chats about her time as a professional athlete and reveals why she looks back on this time differently today.
Janni Kusmagk on her well-trained figure as a competitive athlete: “I was insecure”
In the podcast “Lose Luder”, Janni Kusmagk chats more openly than ever before about her body feeling as a professional athlete. We probably owe that to Desire Nick, who is not exactly squeamish about her questions. “Is it true that surfing makes a big ass part of the program?” says the 65-year-old. Janni, who doesn’t seem to mind the offensive question, answers with a resounding yes.
But what follows is surprising. Janni admits that she didn’t always feel comfortable in her then very well-trained body. “I had so many insecurities with my body and many women actually do not find themselves so beautiful when you are so sporty,” she continues. The reason for this was apparently the many muscles that have built up through daily exercise.
Today she looks back differently on her time as a professional surfer. She really appreciates her well-trained body at the time. “When I see photos now, I think: ‘Wow, what a great figure I had'”.

After the birth of her three children, Janni can no longer tell of the uncertainties at that time. The 31-year-old always documents her physical changes on her Instagram channel – regardless of whether she is pregnant or not.
Desiree Nick also comes to the fore, who can elicit another piquant detail from the 31-year-old with her question. “Now your breasts have nursed three children, how would you judge them from before-and-after pictures?”. An answer from Janni follows promptly: “At Adam’s looking for Eva, I didn’t feel like I had any breasts – and now I have some, that’s the difference,” the 31-year-old happily reveals.
