Jar of Sparks: a new studio opened by veterans of Halo, Batman Arkham and SSX

Today’s studios will make tomorrow’s games, so every company opening is bound to deserve a little attention. Especially when it’s made by developers who have already left their mark on the industry. NetEase Gamesa Chinese publisher that wants to gain more space on the international market, has just announced the opening of Jar of Sparksa Seattle-based studio which he will own, but which “will benefit from total creative freedom”.

Together and with an even bigger future team that they are looking to recruit, they will work on “ the next generation of narrative action games [AAA]with immersive worlds that will be filled with moments players will want to share with each other.”

Jerry Hook, CEO and Head of Studio, explains, “We’ve made games for some of the biggest companies in gaming, and now it’s time to try and put our own ‘bolt of genius in a bottle’. We want to create something new, innovative and a blast to play. When looking to build a new studio, the most critical part of finding the right partner is being aligned with the core goals of having the freedom to take innovative risks and putting the passion of our creators first. This meant that our player experiences came before the business, which in itself is a risk. NetEase came to the table with a strong creative approach first; they demonstrated the same passion we have for our players and building new experiences that we believe players are looking for. »

Now we’ll have to let it work Jar of Sparks, whose first draft we shouldn’t see for a few years. Until then, Halo Infinite is it available from €69.99 on Amazon.co.uk.
