Jasmin Wagner has no problem being single. “In that relationship I often felt lonely. Not anymore”.

“Some get lockdown babies – and I get a lockdown divorce,” laughs Jasmin Wagner (40) in an interview with the news agency spot on news. The singer, who became known as Blümchen in the 90s, looks ahead after her marriage to Frank Sippel. The two were a couple for about ten years, in February 2015 they said I do.

How much do you still have to nibble at Frank Sippel’s divorce?

Jasmin Wagner: I’m doing very well with it today, but of course it looked very different at first. It’s not easy after ten years of being in a relationship without moving on with each other, but the change felt totally right at the same time. Our time together was just over.

How do you feel when you are single?

Wagner: Pretty good. I enjoy not having to discuss anything anymore and completely concentrating on my music, my friends and my ideas. I have a great relationship with myself and am much happier overall.

Does such a separation weigh even more in such a difficult time as we currently have with Corona?

Wagner: Lockdown 1 helped us to realize with time and calm that we can no longer develop a version of a common future. I think it’s good that the separation process didn’t drag on forever. Ironically, I am part of a real corona cliché. Some have lockdown babies – and I have a lockdown divorce. (laughs)

Do you feel lonely sometimes?

Wagner: I often felt lonely in that relationship. Well not anymore.

How do you currently pass the time in lockdown?

Wagner: I write songs for myself and other artists. I’m passionate about baking and even give baking courses from my kitchen. I am currently promoting the first song from my album that will be out in the summer. It’s called “gold”.

Are you longing for a new relationship?

Wagner: I am a happy single and very satisfied with the liveliness that is currently in my life.

Have you already tried one or the other dating app?

Wagner: Not yet. My friends provide me with dates. Quasi dating with a recommendation!

How should the future partner be by your side?

Wagner: Adventurous, sporty and smart. I am out and about a lot and like to climb mountains. It would be great to be able to share this with my new friend.

And what would be absolute no-gos?

Wagner: Hmmmm … someone who doesn’t order dessert. (laughs)

The Corona crisis is particularly hard on artists. How do you deal with the crisis professionally?

Wagner: I just go other ways and have stopped thinking about all the things I can’t do right now. I prefer to concentrate on the possibilities that are there. This is how I developed my two “only dreamed” wines.

Your new single “Gold” will be released on April 20th, what can your fans expect?

Wagner: Energetic electro hit. A sound that is full of positive vibes and describes my search for a heart of gold.

For many, you will always be a flower: a blessing or a curse for you?

Wagner: Very good. I am forever connected to this wonderful time and have been giving Blümchen concerts again since 2019. I would be a Blümchen fan if I didn’t happen to be the artist myself.

What else can we expect from you this year?

Wagner: I’ve just shot the video for the second single and my album “Von Herzen” will follow in the summer.
