Jason Moma: after Aquaman, he would play Lobo! Who is this DC character?

Will Jason Momoa abandon Aquaman’s trident for Lobo’s arsenal? The actor could continue his adventure in the DC Universe opposite Superman in this new muscular role.

The release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will mark the end of the DC Universe, which will be revived in 2025 by James Gunn. The feature film could also mark Jason Momoa’s last foray under the aquatic armor of the superhero… which he could swap for that of a certain Lobo.

Indeed, since last December, rumors have been rife around his commitment to play the role of DC’s savage interstellar bounty hunter villain.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

As the DC Universe rebooted following The Flash movie this year, it was suggested that the actor would no longer play Arthur Curry/Aquaman and would now move on to the role of Lobo – a character who could well take on David Corenswet’s new Superman in James Gunn’s upcoming Man of Steel film, Superman Legacy.

On the October 12 episode of “The Hot Mic” podcast (via ComingSoon), industry insider Jeff Sneider revealed that Jason Momoa had indeed been chosen to play Lobo and that an official announcement regarding the casting would be made around the beginning of 2024.

That’s right, Jason Momoa is Lobo. It’s done. Jason Momoa has been cast as Lobo, and it will most likely be officially announced…I’d say around February. This has nothing to do with the strike, it has to do with Aquaman.

He specifies that the new part of Aquaman, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomthe filming of which was reportedly chaotic, must first be released in theaters in December before then debuting on HBO Max.

According to him, after one or two weeks on the platform, an announcement will be made: “I think in February – maybe March at the latest – you’re going to have an announcement about Momoa as Lobo – especially if he’s part of the Superman cast.

While waiting to learn more, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be available in theaters from December 20, 2023.
