Jason Priestley: He encourages Shannen Doherty, who has cancer

"She's a fighter, and she's always been a fighter," says Jason Priestley of his former colleague Shannen Doherty.

Actor Jason Priestley (51, "Private Eyes") gave in a video interview with "Studio 10" presenter Angela Bishop (53) an update on the fight of his former serial colleague Shannen Doherty (49) against breast cancer. The interview shows the moderator on her Instagram account.

When the presenter asks about Shannen Doherty, Priestley says he contacts her every few months. "She was in a pretty good mood the last time we spoke," said Priestley. "Shannen is a really tough girl. She's a fighter, and she's always been a fighter, and I know she'll keep fighting as hard as she can," he said.

She has been fighting cancer for five years

Shannen Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2015. Two years and many strenuous treatments later, she gave the all-clear. In early February 2020, however, the US star made it public that the cancer had returned.

The Canadian actor Priestley and his American colleague Doherty played the twins Brenda and Brandon Walsh in the hit series "Beverly Hills, 90210" (1990-2000), who moved from Minnesota to Beverly Hills and there love, suffering, intrigue and the Go through normal US school life together with their clique.
