It is one of the surprise successes of the American box office this year: with 66 million dollars in revenue across the Atlantic (and a place in the annual Top 10) and more than 150 million greenbacks worldwide, Jason Statham stars in the first opus of a potential new franchise with The Beekeeper. An action film eagerly awaited by fans of the actor, which is finally arriving on French screens via Prime Video.
It is therefore on May 17 that we will be able to discover, on the Amazon streaming platform, the new opus from the director of Suicide Squad and Fury, David Ayer. It depicts the relentless vengeance of a man who turns out to be a former agent of a powerful clandestine organization known as the “Beekeepers”, guarantor of global security.
Action, but also love!
Anne Hathaway returns to her favorite genre, the romantic comedy, with the film The Idea of Being With You. This adaptation of Robinne Lee’s bestseller features the romance between a forty-year-old woman and a younger man, a member of a successful boy band.
The novel is loosely inspired by the love life of English singer Harry Styles (the character in the series – renamed Hayes Campbell – is played by Nicholas Galitzine). Even before its release, the film aroused extraordinary enthusiasm, suggesting a hit on Prime Video.
An impression reinforced by the first mostly positive reviews. Internet users were particularly excited about the alchemy that emerges from the couple formed by the two main actors.
