test conclusion
With the JBL Partybox 710 the party can get going. The speaker tower delivers a pleasant and powerful sound, but you shouldn’t listen too closely. On the other hand, the many connections are really good, which means that the box is even ready for small live concerts and karaoke evenings. The chic lighting, which party-goers can customize with the help of the clearly arranged smartphone app, brings additional fun. The Partybox 710 is not suitable for a tour or a beach party. Although the wheels on the underside make it easier to transport the heavy tower, there is no battery for mobile celebrations.

With its chic look and atmospheric lighting, the Partybox 710 fits perfectly into any party room.
The party box 710 cannot be described as small and handy: It is 91 centimeters high, 40 centimeters wide and 44 centimeters deep. The speaker tower weighs a full 28 kilograms. Small wheels on the bottom help transport it to the garden or park. However, there must be a socket nearby, the Partybox 710 has no battery and runs on 230 volts. However, this is not unusual for Bluetooth speakers of this size. The music tower is safe from beer and water splashes (IPX4) and can also be placed on the right or left side thanks to rubber feet on the edges.

The command center of the JBL box is located on the top. Alternatively, music fans can use the mobile app.
There are all sorts of buttons and controls on the top. These are used, among other things, for volume and playback control. Additional buttons for the sound and light effects are more exciting. At the push of a button, the box fades in applause or lights on the front of the JBL speaker dance rhythmically to the beat. Music fans have full control with the associated manufacturer app “Partybox” (for iOS and Android). In the application, users change the color and intensity of the lighting, among other things.

Only the bass can be adjusted in the “Partybox” app. Unfortunately, options for mids and highs are missing.
On request, party-goers can also adjust the bass boost in the JBL app. In addition to conventional bass amplification (“low”), there is the “powerful” option. This option boosts not only low frequencies, but also mid-range frequencies, thus ensuring a more balanced sound image. In this setting, the basses have a nice punch and are less boomy than with the Partybox 1000. The mids sound clean and pleasant, even if voices are a bit thin. There is nothing to complain about at the maximum volume. The Partybox 710 reached a deafening 105 decibels in the test.

Thanks to the jack sockets for instruments and microphones (right and left), the Partybox 710 can also be used as an amplifier.
The connections for the JBL loudspeaker are hidden behind a flap on the back: the Klangobelisk has a USB charging socket for smartphones and tablets, as well as a stereo input (3.5 mm jack). What is really special, however, are the two microphone connections and the connection connections, which can be used to connect other conspecifics to the box – great.
