(Boursier.com) — JCDecaux SE announces that its joint venture subsidiary JCDecaux (Macau) Limited – created in partnership with HN Group and owned 80% by JCDecaux and 20% by HN Group – has won the exclusive 15-year contract for advertising street furniture for the Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR; 682,000 inhabitants).

This new concession will make it possible to cover all the needs, ie approximately 150 bus shelters & 150 Urban Information Units (MUPI). As a world first, all MUPIs will be double-sided advertising and digital (one side 75 inches and one side 43 inches). Some of them will even be equipped with a 32-inch interactive screen designed to be accessible to people with reduced mobility. This unprecedented digital network will provide a platform for the municipality and advertisers to reach their audiences in real time with animated digital content. This digital platform will also integrate an emergency alert system, making it possible to disseminate safety messages as a priority, in order to strengthen the urban arsenal of information tools relating to natural disasters (typhoons, floods, etc.).

A Macao partner since 2001, JCDecaux was the first company to win an exclusive advertising contract for the installation and maintenance of street furniture. JCDecaux Macau will gradually deploy these new furniture throughout the territory, to now extend to Taipa, Cotai & Coloane.
