Jean Castex Prime Minister: why do we call him "the Michel Drucker of politics": Femme Actuelle Le MAG

We already knew him by a nickname, that of "Monsieur déconfinement". He had been renamed in this way after he was appointed by Emmanuel Macron to prepare for the recovery following the coronavirus crisis. From now on, Jean Castex is our new Prime Minister. His appointment follows the resignation of Edouard Philippe, made public on July 3, 2020. And one thing is certain, his former collaborators are full of praise for him. In an article published on April 3, 2020 in Point, Franck Louvrier, former adviser to the president, describes him as "real swiss army knife". "In this period of crisis, it would take ten like him …", he adds. And obviously, he is not alone in thinking so.

Acclaimed by its former collaborators

Antoine Grezaud, ex-dircab of the mayor of Toulouse, who has rubbed shoulders with Jean Castex as adviser in ministerial cabinet since the beginning of his career, praised the relational capacities of his former colleague, comparing him to a legend of French television. "Jean Castex, it's a bit the Michel Drucker politics: we always have a good time with him and we never get angry; he's the kind of man who remembers the names of all your children", he launched. Qualities which can only be useful for the exercise of his new functions. "He never puts himself in conflict with someone, he is clever in human relations: direct, he is more comfortable in face-to-face meetings than in multilateral high masses, he said. He is stubborn, but at the same time a man of dialogue. He knows how to manage power relations with ministries and administrations without having enemies.", at added the president of the Federation of service to private employers. In other words, "to straighten the bar, this is the best profile", certified Xavier Bertrand. Hope he is right!
