The new government is preparing to go on vacation. As reported The Parisian, the ministers of Jean Castex will be entitled to four weeks of rest, from Wednesday July 29, 2020. But strict instructions will have to be observed. According to an official letter that the daily obtained, the President of the Republic and his new Prime Minister asked members of the government to provide them with several information "as summer vacation approaches". Before the big departure, Roselyne Bachelot, Eric Dupond-Moretti and their colleagues will have to specify the exact dates of their absence, the address of their vacation resort as well as"telephone and electronic contact details allowing them to remain reachable in case of need".
Destinations limited to the Schengen area
But that's not all. "Members of the government must also provide the contact details of those responsible for their permanence within the ministry.", adds the daily before stressing that the ministers were called to be"present in the field during their holidays". Another detail and not the least,"ministers who wish to be absent during this period must choose a destination compatible with their ministerial responsibilities", specifies the document, which requires that these summer holidays take place"in any case within the Schengen area". Health crisis obliges!
After four weeks of rest, the members of the government will meet on Monday August 24, 2020, on the occasion of a Council of Ministers for the start of the school year. According to information from Gala, Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte will stay at Fort de Brégançon, summer residence of the Presidents of the Republic, from August. The destinations of the newly appointed head of government and his ministers have not yet been released.
