Jean-Jacques Bourdin case: the disturbing testimony of Sidonie Bonnec

While he is accused of attempted sexual assault, Jean-Jacques Bourdin was dismissed from the antenna of BFMTV and RMC. And since his departure, tongues have been loosened to denounce his inappropriate behavior, as evidenced by Sidonie Bonnec.

The silence is gradually broken. In early January, a complaint was filed against Jean-Jacques Bourdin for attempted sexual assault by a former collaborator. In her testimony, the complainant claims that the journalist from BFMTV and RMC tried to forcefully kiss her in a swimming pool during a press trip to Corsica in 2013. Accusations which led to the opening of a investigation, definitively pushing the antenna of BFMTV and RMC to temporarily dismiss the journalist. And since his departure, the tongues are loosened little by little to testify to his inappropriate behavior against his colleagues.

Among the testimonies, that of Fanny Agostini, who filed the complaint which is currently targeting Jean-Jacques Bourdin, and who has long kept the facts to herself “for fear of losing his job”. I had been told that it was necessary to be very respectful with Bourdin, to go in his direction, not to hurt him. He could make and break careers, she thus confided to Mediapart. Her testimony is supported with the media founded by Edwy Plenel by that of Sidonie Bonnec, who reports having also been the victim of inappropriate behavior on the part of Jean-Jacques Bourdin, whom she met in 2010 on the set of the broadcast by Jean-Marc Morandini on D8. So at the start of her career, she let herself be tempted by a job offer from the journalist, who assures us that the antenna of RMC is always trying to expand.

“I’m not suspicious, I’m enthusiastic, I go for it” she remembers. Jean-Jacques Bourdin then offers him to hold a press review in the morning. They will then meet again for lunch and dinner: “I did not find it suspicious because it was summer, he worked at noon”she confides, specifying that these two meals were professional. “We debrief, he gives me advice, we progress, he is nice, interesting, really not out of place”, assures Sidonie Bonnec. Then, at the start of the school year, during a new lunch, he tells her that it is important for her, as she is young, to expand her network and he offers to accompany her to Calvi. “He tells me that it’s good, that next weekend he will be at a festival in Calvi, and that it will be an opportunity to meet people in the business”she remembers.

“There is a swimming pool, don’t forget your bathing suit”

“Not packed” by Jean-Jacques Bourdin’s proposal, Sidonie Bonnec finally accepts, while the journalist explains to her that she will be staying at a hotel. Everything was believable, I went there with my eyes closed, she says. But two days before departure, he calls him to tell him that the hotel is finally full, but that, as a backup plan, he proposes to him to come and stay in the villa he is renting with a friend, before slipping him: There’s a swimming pool, don’t forget your bathing suit.”

This sentence broke my legs. Suddenly it wasn’t professional at all. I did not see my future boss telling me: ‘Take your bathing suit’. I thought we had a huge problem, she assures Mediapart. She then talks about it to her companion who tells her not to go, that it’s “a bogus plan”, “a trap”. Finally, the host of France 2 will go well in Corsica, but with his companion. Of course, I never got the job. It was really about getting a job. For me, it was serious. And I’ve never been into seduction, I’m a very straight person”she assures, having no further news from Jean-Jacques Bourdin.
