Guest on the France 5 show, C to youLhe renowned cellist Gautier Capuçon spoke behind the scenes of this collaboration unpublishedavailable on his album Destination Paris and which is called “Think of us”.
While Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine asked him how he contacted the very discreet artist of whom he is a fan, Renaud Capuçon’s brother confided: “I always thought that you really had to believe in your dreams and follow through. Otherwise, we have regrets. Sometimes it doesn’t work, but you have to try.”he revealed, then specifying that he had sent him a message talking about a project “which brings together a song, a hymn to happiness in some way, performed by children”. As he explained this, we caught a glimpse of a recent photo of the hitmaker with the cellist. Smiling, Jean-Jacques Goldman, who wears an anthracite gray turtleneck, seems not to have aged a bit.

And the 42-year-old artist impatiently awaited the response. “I can tell you that every morning, I was like a kid”he revealed, until the day where he received this famous response. He confided: “I got even more nervous, obviously, when I started reading. I was so happy to see that the project resonated with him.” As for the reason why Jean-Jacques Goldman, who is on stage retirement, agreed to participateGautier Capuçon has his little idea: “I think that the fact of working, of composing a song in a universe a little bit different from his own – with a classical orchestra, a cellist, a pianist and a choir – touched him.” And Gautier Capuçon recalls: “It’s true that when you sing a variety song, usually there’s just a singer with a microphone and it’s a little different type of voice.“ And the cellist concludes with this title recorded last April: “There, we have a choir and all these orchestra children at school of which I am the proud ambassador. I am very happy. It’s a real privilege.“ Even if Jean-Jacques Goldman set about writing this title, there is still no question for the father of the director of the star Academy to return to the stage.
