In an interview published on Monday, December 19, the host of 12 strokes of noon spoke about the “great void” which still haunts him today and pushes him to dread the holidays to come, four months after the death of his mother Josette, whose he was very close. Without a filter, he said about it: “I think a lot about the people who are alone that night”referring to Christmas Eve, next Saturday. “You know, It’s a very tricky Christmas for mebecause this is the first without my mom“ he added, thus referring to this “great void” which he fails to fill.
In a second interview with TV Cable SatJean-Luc Reichmann returned to the strong relationship that bound him to his mother, before she left us in August. “I had him at least three times a day on the phone. I miss his laughter and his voice” he admitted, before sharing with readers how he plans to spend the holidays regardless. “It will be very painful this year. It will not be a Christmas like the others. We will go to Nathalie’s family. Then we will take three days for us to collect ourselves. Christmas is synonymous with family. Once the spotlights are off, you’ll have to be strong“ he said, speaking of his wife Nathalie Lecoultre.
