Jean-Marie Bigard: his terrible secrets about the murder of his father

Invited on the Touche plateau not at my post this Tuesday, September 13, Jean-Marie Bigard delivered heartbreaking secrets about his father, who was murdered. The comedian revealed in particular that he managed to forgive the murderer despite the pain and grief.

A tragic death. When he was only 20 years old, Jean Marie Bigard attended the murder of his father, just a year after the death of his mother, who died of pancreatic cancer. A news item on which the comedian had agreed to speak on the show Temporary madness in 2016.”My father was murdered by a guy. He had a wife, he asked us if it bothered us if he started a new life, we said ‘of course not’. It’s a news item, but this woman had a guy, one day he came, he hid in the house and he killed my father”he explained.

And this Tuesday, September 13, Jean-Marie Bigard again returned to this tragic story on the set of Do not touch My TV. Faced with Cyril Hanouna and his columnists, the husband of Lola Marois returned in detail to the night his father was killed. “The guy arrived at night. My father had nothing to defend himself with, he had a hunting knife like that [il montre la taille d’un grand couteau avec ses mains, ndlr]. He slashed my father’s body with a dozen stab wounds, very deep”he said, before adding: “when I saw my father’s hands full of blood coming down the stairs and reaching the door to try to get out, there he [l’assassin, ndlr] arrives with a rifle. He puts his foot on his back and he shoots him in the neck to finish him off.”. Just after committing his act, the murderer surrendered to the police.

Jean-Marie Bigard managed to forgive

Despite his pain and the cruelty of this murder, Jean-Marie Bigard said he managed to forgive the man who put an end to his father’s life. “I remember that I forgave my father’s killer and I can’t tell you where it came from”, he said in TPM. During his passage in Folie Passagère in 2016, the dad of Jules and Bella (10 years old) had agreed to confide a little longer on this forgiveness that he managed to grant to the murderer. “The guy gave himself up to the police and I don’t know where I found that, but, in the dock, I forgave him. I don’t know where it came from. I am sure and certain at the time that since he is repentant, it is better to forgive him. He couldn’t give me my father back. There were two solutions, hatred, anger, detestation until the end of my days, or to forgive (…) I took that away from me, because it would have been terrible to drag this thing around like a cannonball”, he explained. On the airwaves of Europe 1 in 2017, he even admitted to being “almost relieved that [s]we father find [s]to mother”.
