Indeed, the former Minister of National Education was insulted and sprayed with white foam by two college teachers while campaigning near a market.
In a statement, the Montargis public prosecutor said that a flagrant investigation for aggravated willful violence has been opened. According to France Bleu Orléans, the two men, aged 51 and 57, who insulted the former minister and “who exercise the profession of secondary school teachers”have been placed in police custody for intentional violence in a meeting.

The former minister also wanted to speak on his Twitter account shortly after the attack. “An electoral campaign is a moment of democratic happiness through exchange. Long live the calm, long live respect, long live democracy“, he wrote.
The candidate for the presidential majority in the 4th constituency of Loiret also received support from several political figures, including Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, and his successor in the ministry, Pap Ndiaye.
