Jean Panisse, actor in "Manon des sources", died at 92: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

The world of the seventh art is in mourning. Jean Panisse, star of the film Manon des Sources by Marcel Pagnol released in 1952, died on the night of Thursday December 31, 2020 to Friday January 1, 2021. A few days earlier, the actor and sidekick of the seducer Jean-Paul Belmondo was hospitalized at the University Hospital Institute for Infectious Diseases in Marseille, where the famous professor Didier Raoult, due of its contamination with Covid-19. He was finally able to return to his retirement home, located in La Joliette in the 2nd arrondissement of Marseille, Wednesday, December 30, 2020, before to go out in bed.

Jean-Baptiste Rivoallan, councilor of the 11th and 13th arrondissements of the municipality of Marseille, held to pay homage to his friend with the teams of France 3. "He was one of those people from Marseille in the 1950s who had suffered a lot and who were still smiling, for whom there was never a problem even if they lived in sometimes a little difficult conditions. But nothing was a concern for him. He was always positive, always smiling, that's what I keep from him ". During his career, Jean Panisse has worked with several great French actors: Fernandel, Ventura or even De Funès.

Jean Panisse, a movie star

Born March 17, 1958 in Marseille, Jean Panisse began his career in 1952, and played in no less than 50 feature films. The actor notably appeared alongside the legendary Louis De Funès in The gendarmes in Saint-Tropez released in 1964, in which he played a restaurateur. He also gave the reply to Brigitte Bardot in An act of love, released in 1953. In 1991, Jean Panisse decided to leave the world of cinema, before doing a whole last appearance in a small screen series : More beautiful life in 2004. His funeral will be celebrated on Thursday January 7, 2021 at the Saint-Victor Abbey, located in the 7th arrondissement of the city of Marseille.
