Jean-Pierre Pernaut: his confidences on his new life away from the 13h newscast of TF1: Femme Actuelle The MAG

After having officiated at the controls of the 1 p.m. news TF1 for nearly 33 years, Jean-Pierre Pernaut bowed out by presenting his last newscast on December 18, 2020. However, the journalist has not retired because he still embodies some reports on the first channel, and he presents a weekly show on LCI. Questioned by the newspaper The Dispatch Friday April 2, 2021, the one who recently defended Patrick Poivre d’Arvor confided in his new life since he no longer presents the mid-day newspaper on TF1.

“I’m happy to sleep a little longer in the morning, to organize my days at my own pace. The diary is such a fascinating thing. We think about it at night, on weekends … ” explained Jean-Pierre Pernaut. The one who married a former Miss France in the person of Nathalie Marquay does not seem at all to regret having given way to Marie-Sophie Lacarrau. “If I decided to quit, I won’t miss it (…) I wanted to find another rhythm. I am soon 71 years old and have the weight of a daily newscast, it was something that was getting a little heavy.said the journalist, who also founded the platform JPP TV since leaving the mid-day edition.

A new play in sight for Jean-Pierre Pernaut

In addition to his journalistic activities within the group TF1, Jean-Pierre Pernaut is working on other professional projects. The fact that he left the 1 p.m. newscast enabled him to “start a third play,” with his wife, who works as an actress. Together, the couple had already staged the play called Matignon trap, with Jean-Claude Islert. Faced with the success of this first theatrical production, Nathalie Marquay and Jean-Pierre Pernaut, who treated themselves to a fiery Valentine’s Day this year, repeated the experience 5 years later with a second play, entitled Presidential regime. It remains to be seen whether their new theatrical project will experience the same success as the previous ones, despite the health crisis.
