Jeep Avenger: the beginning of the electric adventure

As part of its electrification plan, Jeep introduced the Avenger, an all-electric B-segment SUV. It will be fully unveiled at the Paris Motor Show on October 17.

Jeep, a subsidiary of Stellantis, today unveiled its ambitious electrification plan for the next few years. The American brand is aiming for neither more nor less than world leadership in electric SUVs.

The Jeep Avenger will be the first of four SUVs from the manufacturer totally driven by the fairy Electricity. This will be followed by the retro-style Recon, the Wagoneer S, positioned at the top of the range, and a fourth model with an as yet unknown name. This all-electric family will contribute to the full electrification of the automaker as Jeep, emulating Stellantis, plans to sell only electric vehicles in Europe by 2030.

In the meantime, the Jeep Avenger will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 17, 2022. Pricing will be announced at that time. In terms of style, the future Avenger displays many typical Jeep design traits, with the traditional seven-slat grille for example, muscular and square proportions, as well as imposing wheel arches to assert its adventurous side.

The Avenger will have many competitors in the compact electric SUV market, starting with rivals from the parent company Stellantis, such as the Peugeot e-2008 and the Opel Mokka-e with which it shares the e-platform. CPM. Without benefiting for the moment from details on the mechanical components, we can anticipate a sharing of the powertrain equipping these vehicles with a 50 kWh battery. The modified chemistry would, however, save about fifty kilometers to turn around 400 km in mixed – we will deepen these points during a test as soon as possible. The charging time should be contained around 30 min to go from 20 to 80% via the 100 kW DC charge.

In addition to this electric version, we hope that the next micro-hybrid petrol version of the 1.2 l Puretech will be there to offer more versatility to this stylish little SUV.

No interior image available yet, but Jeep said the Avenger will get its latest Uconnect infotainment system. The production of the new Avenger, which is positioned in the range under the Renegade, will take place at the Tychy plant (Poland). An all-wheel-drive version is not excluded.
