A crucial model for Jeep, the Avenger marks the brand’s first shift towards 100% electric. Designed around the Stellantis group’s e-CMP platform on which the Peugeot e-2008, Opel e-Mokka and DS3 E-Tense are based, the Avenger is the smallest car ever produced by the brand.
With the Avenger, Jeep is turning to a younger, more urban clientele and with young children in particular. To offer an alternative that is both more affordable and more practical for families who have not started their transition, the urban crossover is adorned with a more conventional gasoline engine.
The return of the 1.2 PureTech

To drive this petrol version of the Jeep Avenger, the brand has chosen one of the group’s engines. This is the 1.2 PureTech, sadly famous for its many belt problems, a small turbocharged three-cylinder engine in its version delivering 100 horsepower. If the power can make fans of the brand accustomed to larger displacements smile, this small block is nevertheless more than enough to move the Avenger. Unfortunately, the petrol version is currently only available with a six-speed manual transmission.
This new version testifies to the Stellantis group’s desire to offer each engine as much as possible. If success is expected for this thermal Avenger, the electric version remains in the catalog to ensure a contained CO2 mix within the Jeep range.
A sharp drop in price
To afford the electric version of the Jeep Avenger, equipped with the 156 horsepower electric motor and offering a range of 400 km WLTP thanks to a 50 kWh battery, you will have to pay € 39,000 excluding bonuses. A tidy sum that may seem high for a compact car.
In thermal version, the price plummets since it is displayed from 27,000 €. At this price, Jeep does not leave much choice in terms of configuration since only the 1.2 PureTech 100 hp & BVM6 engine in Altitude+ finish is available, corresponding to a mid-range finish.
However, the ecological bonus of €5,000 for the electric version brings the price difference down to just €7,000. The quality/price ratio of this thermal Avenger is interesting, ultimately bringing it back to services close to the Peugeot 2008.
