After long years of hallway noise, Beetlejuice 2 is finally in the pipes! Tim Burton will direct the sequel to his cult film, which will be released in September 2024, opposite Blade, the MCU superhero.
35 years after the first opus, Beetlejuice will have a sequel directed by Tim Burton. Filming began on May 11 in London. Michael Keaton will reprise his role and will be joined by Wednesday’s revelation, Jenna Ortega.
After collaborating with Tim Burton on the Netflix series, she will therefore find the director for this sequel! She will play Lydia’s daughter, played by Winona Ryder in the first film. The latter will be there alongside a new kid: Justin Theroux.
A release date has even been announced. According Deadline, Beetlejuice 2 will land on September 6, 2024 in the United States. In France, it will normally be September 4, 2024.
As a reminder, the original Beetlejuice, released in 1988, followed Adam and Barbara Maitland, played by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis. For wanting to save a dog, they go straight to the other world. Shortly after, invisible occupants of their ancient home, they see it invaded by a rich and noisy New York family.
