Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler have had a long friendship – they have now proven that again. At an awards ceremony, the actress addressed touching words to her favorite colleague.

At the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, Jennifer Aniston presented the comedian with the People’s Icon Award. “Tonight I am here to honor my very good friend. My brother from another mother. And an extraordinary father, husband and one of the most loyal friends you can ever have: Adam Sandler,” the actress begins her speech. The actor then gives his wife Jackie, 49, to whom he has been married since 2003, a kiss and wants to rush onto the stage, but Aniston stops him. “No, sit down, Adam, I’m not done yet!” she says, adding, “You can’t wait to get up here! I love you.”

The “Morning Show” actress then gives a brief overview of Sandler’s work, from his early days on Saturday Night Live to his comedies and dramas, to emphasize how “iconic” he is. Despite his immense success, the now 57-year-old has always remained true to his roots. “He’s never strayed from the friends he’s had for 35 years. He’s created a world where he includes them in his films – basically he can hang out with his buddies all day,” Aniston said.

“Being friends with him is one of the greatest joys of my life. I’m proud to honor him tonight,” she continues. Adam Sandler is visibly touched by the loving words and shortly afterwards hugs his good friend on stage. “Aniston, I love you so much,” says the winner, beaming with joy.
