Jennifer Aniston: This is how the actress supports the fight against racism

In the past few days, Jennifer Aniston (51, "We are the Millers") has publicly taken a stand on Instagram about what she thinks of racism. In private, however, she obviously did a lot more. The star from the cult comic "Friends" is said to have donated large sums of money to various charities in the fight against prejudice and hatred without making a fuss about it.

Aniston is said to have spent almost a million US dollars, the equivalent of about 885,000 euros, for a good cause, according to a report by the US portal "ET Online". Part of the amount went to the organization "Color Of Change", which has been campaigning for the rights of African Americans in the USA since 2005.

A "heartbreaking" week

The actress had previously participated in "Blackout Tuesday". Millions of users, including many celebrities like Aniston, had just posted black pictures on popular social media portals last week to help George Floyd, who had been killed in a brutal US police arrest, and other victims to remember of police violence and racism.

"This week has been heartbreaking for a number of reasons," Aniston previously said on Instagram. "We have to recognize that racism and brutality have been going on in this country for far too long – and that it was never okay." All who want "equality and peace" should recognize as their allies their responsibility to "make noise, demand justice, educate us on these matters, and – more than anything else – spread love." How much time still has to pass before there is a change?
