Motherhood has changed Jennifer Lawrence and after the birth of her son she had to admit that she could no longer fulfill all of her initial career plans.
Jennifer Lawrence, 32, felt quite quickly that being a mom changes life. Oscar-winner and art dealer Cooke Maroney, 38, welcomed son Cy into the world in February 2022 and things haven’t been the same since.
Jennifer Lawrence Admits Change of Plan Due to Maternity
Speaking to ‘Good Morning America,’ the actress openly admitted that her new job as a mom changed her ambitions to direct in the near future. Her priorities are completely different at the moment and she also lacks the necessary strength for such an additional task. “I always thought I was going to direct. Now I’m just so tired and it just looks so hard,” says JLaw sympathetically honest. With these words she certainly speaks from the heart of many parents.
Jennifer Lawrence: Shocking mom confession
This isn’t the first time Jennifer Lawrence has spoken out about parenthood. So she admitted to her fellow actress Viola Davis, 57, in an interview for “Variety” magazine, how difficult she finds the mom job. “Every day that I’m a mother, I feel terrible.” She goes on to make this initially shocking confession and explains that it is her own insecurity that is bothering her every day. “I’m playing with him and I’m like, ‘Does he really want to do this right now? Or should we go outside?'” she describes her own thought process. “Then we’re out. ‘What if he’s too cold? What if he gets sick? Should we go in? Is that enough? Is that developing your brain enough?'” Questions upon questions that probably every new- Mama can understand all too well. After all, you’re doing this for the first time.
But the actress can’t really get out of her skin despite motherhood and was finally in front of the camera for the film “No Hard Feelings”. An acting comeback, which was actually not planned at all. “I just had a baby and wasn’t planning on working long term. But the script was the funnest thing I’ve ever read,” she said of her decision to take the job after all.
In the comedy, she plays Maddie, who thinks she’s finally found the solution to her money problems when she discovers an intriguing job opportunity when wealthy helicopter parents are hiring their introverted 19-year-old offspring, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman). Woman who “dates” him before he leaves home for college. Is Lawrence also a helicopter mom who hovers overprotectively around her son? “Probably. I need to work on that,” she laughed.
