Their families are still deeply connected: Jennifer Lopez congratulated Alex Rodriguez’s daughter on her birthday with a loving picture.
Jennifer Lopez (51, “Hustlers”) and Alex Rodriguez (45) announced their separation on April 15th. After about four years together and their engagement in 2019, the couple decided “to work better as friends,” as a statement said. But the singer and the former professional baseball player remain closely connected even after the separation – mainly because of their children.
Jennifer Lopez congratulated Rodriguez’s daughter Ella on her 13th birthday in her Instagram story last Wednesday. A photo together shows the two closely embraced. J.Lo posted a series of hearts and wrote “Happy Birthday Ella Bella”. The photo also appeared in a video that Rodriguez on his Instagram account published and shows the proud father on some snapshots with his daughters.
They continue to support each other
Already in their statement on their separation, the two made it clear that they parted on good terms. “We have realized that we work better as friends and look forward to staying so,” the US magazine “People” quoted from the statement. They would continue to “work together” and “support each other in joint ventures and projects”. “We wish each other and our respective children the best.”
Lopez brought two children into the relationship who came from a previous marriage to her colleague Marc Anthony (52) – the twins Emme and Maximilian, who were born in February 2008. Rodriguez and his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis (48) have daughters Ella Alexander (13) and Natasha Alexander (16).
Shooting deadline for “Shotgun Wedding”
Lopez also gave her fans a professional update on her Instagram account. In the past few weeks she has been in front of the camera alongside colleague Josh Duhamel (48, “This is how life”) for “Shotgun Wedding” in the Dominican Republic. At the end of the shooting, the actress posted some snapshots from the set.
