In 2014, a long trial opened in Canada. The four protagonists cited above face charges of first-degree premeditated homicide and attempted murder. After 10 months of discussions in court, the ax fell: they were sentenced to life in prison, with the possibility of parole after 25 years.

But in 2023, Jennifer Pan is being talked about again. The young woman decided to appeal her conviction to the Ontario Court of Appeal, which was accepted. Justice considers that the trial judge made an error by presenting only two probable scenarios to the jury: the first being that the young woman had her parents murdered and the second that it was simply a burglary. went wrong.
