Jensen Ackles: The "Supernatural" star will mix up "The Boys" in the future

After the end of the mystery series "Supernatural", main actor Jensen Ackles has a new job: He joins the team of "The Boys".

The mystery series "Supernatural" ends this year with the 15th season. The series finale was supposed to be broadcast on US television in spring, but had to be postponed to the end of the year due to the corona pandemic. After the series ends, actor Jensen Ackles (42) has a new job. He trades mystery for superpowers. Ackles will play the role of Soldier Boy in the third season of "The Boys", as Amazon Prime Video has officially confirmed.

Serial brother Jared Padalecki is happy

Soldier Boy fought in World War II and became the first superhero ever. It "was one of the most important pillars of American culture for decades," the press release said. Jensen Ackles had also announced his new job via his official Instagram account. His longstanding serial brother from "Supernatural", Jared Padalecki (38), congratulates enthusiastically in the comments. "I couldn't be happier (…) They are lucky to have you," writes Padalecki among others.

Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have played the "Supernatural" brothers Dean and Sam Winchester since 2005. Ackles' new series "The Boys" has been around since 2019. The second season premieres on September 4th on Prime Video. Even before the start of the new episodes, the streaming service "The Boys" has already extended a third season.
