Bayern star Jérôme Boateng leaves the Club World Cup in Qatar early. It was previously announced that his ex-girlfriend Kasia Lenhardt died.

Bayern star Jérôme Boateng (32) will not be available to the record champions at the upcoming final of the Club World Cup in Doha / Qatar. As his coach Hansi Flick (55) announced at a press conference, the defender asked to be allowed to return to Munich for private reasons. The club also confirmed this on the official Twitter account. It had previously become known that his ex-girlfriend, former "Germany's next top model" candidate Kasia Lenhardt, suddenly died at the age of 25.

"Jérôme came to my room and asked me to go home," said Flick. The club's wish was fulfilled. Boateng will leave for Munich after a negative corona test and will not be available to Bayern until further notice. "That took us all away," said Flick. The exact circumstances of Lenhardt's death are not yet known. According to a report by the "Bild" newspaper, the police said there were no indications of third-party negligence.
