Jessica Biel is ashamed of her period
Jessica Biel has one goal: she wants to remove the taboo surrounding menstruation, and she’s starting with the very young. With “A Kids Book About Periods,” Justin Timberlake’s wife wants to educate people. The trigger: the actress was ashamed of her period for years and still has problems with it. “I don’t know how to say to a colleague or someone: ‘Excuse me, I really have to go to the bathroom. I have to change my tampon,'” Jessica admits in an interview with “People.”
“I was shocked at how little I knew”
In her thirties, when she started planning a baby, the actress also had questions. She felt uninformed about her cycle. Jessica Biel says: “When I was in that phase of my life where I was really trying to start a family, I was shocked at how little I knew. […] Then all these questions came up. It wasn’t as easy as I imagined.”
Then she states:
I mean, I knew the basics. I’ve always dealt with the basics. But as I got older, things changed, my cycle was different and I wasn’t getting pregnant. What was going on? And the second time I had a lot of trouble getting pregnant.
This touched a nerve with the “Candy” actress; she wanted more “answers” and “tools”. Jessica Biel now passes this knowledge on to the little ones in a child-friendly way so that they feel differently than she does.
