Divorced US First Lady Jill Biden gives US singer Kelly Clarkson, who has been separated since June 2020, advice on divorce.

Divorce tips from the highest level: On Wednesday's "The Kelly Clarkson Show", host Kelly Clarkson (38) spoke to US First Lady Jill Biden (69) about her own upcoming divorce, among other things. Clarkson filed hers in June 2020, and Biden has also been through a divorce.

"My mom always said to me, 'Tomorrow everything will be better. And if you do one thing at a time, things will get better,'" Biden began. Today she looks back positively on this advice from her mother, because: "If I hadn't gotten a divorce, I wouldn't have met Joe. I wouldn't have the wonderful family that I have now," continued Biden.

The First Lady continued, "I really believe everything will be fine. And I think, Kelly, in time – I don't know how long you've been – but I think in time the injury will heal." she continued to encourage her. Biden can't wait "until the day comes for you and you call me and say, 'Hey Jill, you were right.'"

Jill Biden's divorce was in 1975

Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock got married in 2013. They have a daughter (born in 2014) and a son (born in 2016) together. She filed for divorce in June 2020. Jill Biden has been married to the current US President Joe Biden (78) since 1977. The two had a daughter, Ashley Biden (39). He brought two sons from his first marriage. From 1970 to 1975 Jill Biden was married to Bill Stevenson for the first time.
