Jim Carrey delighted in his role as Joe Biden on "Saturday Night Live". Now he announced that he would no longer play Biden.

Actor Jim Carrey (58, "The Mask") was seen in the USA in a parody role of the future US President Joe Biden (78) on the show "Saturday Night Live". Now announced the comedian on Twitterthat he will no longer play the role in the coming season.

He joked on social media: "Although my term was only scheduled for six weeks, I was delighted to have been elected as your SNL President – the highest reputation for duty in the comedy world." The actor also joked that he would have loved to continue the role knowing that Biden had won the election because of Jim Carrey's performance. "But I'm just one of a long line of proud, fighting SNL Bidens!" Concluded the 58-year-old.

Jim Carrey played the Democrat since October 3 on the 46th season of the comedy show. Jason Sudeikis (45), Woody Harrelson (59) and John Mulaney (38) previously slipped into this role. At Carrey's side were Maya Rudolph (48) as the upcoming Vice-President Kamala Harris (55) and Alec Baldwin (62) as Donald Trump (74). It is not yet known whether they will remain true to their roles in the coming season.

In the last episode of the year of the US format, actor Alex Moffat (38) was instead of Jim Carrey as seen as Joe Biden. It is still unclear whether he will embody the role in the coming season and thus follow in the footsteps of his predecessors.
