Musician and actor Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht becomes a father for the first time. "Our life will change completely," he said in an interview.

Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht (29, "Cooking is easy") and his girlfriend Yeliz Koc (27) are looking forward to their first child together. Although there can be no question of looking forward, because "Yeliz is not doing so well during pregnancy", as the dad-to-be and former child star ("Wilde Kerle") confirmed in an interview with spot on news.

The Berliner by choice also tells how he manages the balancing act between private life and professional obligations. Because he is currently on the road a lot in Tenerife for his new single "Not alone", which will be released on March 19, and as the presenter of the program "Love Island – Aftersun: The Talk After" (RTLzwei).

You are currently quite busy, both privately and professionally. How do you bring all of this under one roof?

Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht: I don't know it any other way. Since I was little, I've always had a lot on my mind. When I was at school, I would film or record music during the holidays. Otherwise I just get bored easily. But I still find a lot of time for Yeliz, luckily she was able to fly to Tenerife with me.

How has your life changed since your friend Yeliz was pregnant?

Ochsenknecht: Yeliz is not doing so well during pregnancy so far. I take care of them, cook for them. We are at home a lot, watch series and enjoy the time together.

As a father-to-be, what do you look forward to most and what do you have the most respect for?

Ochsenknecht: I don't have any respect, but I'm very excited about everything that comes our way. Our life will change completely. We will sleep less and have a new protagonist in our life.

How is Yeliz now after her hospital stay, does she have to take it easy until the birth?

Ochsenknecht: She is doing better at the moment, but unfortunately that can always change suddenly. Of course, I try to relieve her a lot and make her time as good as possible.

Will you share the baby's gender with your fans and followers or will it be a secret until the end?

Ochsenknecht: The support from the fans is really great. We are pleased how happy they are for us. Therefore, we will communicate this in due course.

Your new song "Not alone" has a very emotional message. How did the idea come about and who do you want to reach with it?

Ochsenknecht: We all know these dark phases in life when we don't know what to do next, when we stand in front of seemingly insurmountable walls. Many make it out of this valley on their own, others don't. I have been dealing with this topic for years, when I realized that within a short time both my cousin and friends in my close circle of friends had no way out of their grief. With the song I want to show everyone – you are not alone. There is help.

Will you step back a little after the birth?

Ochsenknecht: Of course, we will enjoy our time as a family immediately afterwards – but there are already many exciting projects that I am looking forward to.

Will the wedding bells ring soon too?

Ochsenknecht: We take one step at a time. Now comes the baby first.
