Released in 1990, the thriller “Presumed Innocent” with Harrison Ford is about to become a series under the leadership of JJ Abrams and David E. Kelley, the creator of “Big Little Lies”, for Apple TV+.
This is the new big trend in Hollywood: adapting films into series. Flashdance, Liaison Fatale, Grease… many projects are already in the works. The latest is Presumed Innocent, a 1990 political thriller by Alan J. Pakula and worn by Harrison Ford.
At the controls of the program, two renowned showrunners: JJ Abrams, who is continuing his career on television, and David E. Kelley, creator of Big Little Lies and The Undoing. This series marks their first collaboration.
Composed of eight episodes, the fiction will follow the same plot as the original film: a famous Chicago prosecutor is accused of the murder of a young student with whom he had an affair. Before being a feature film, presumed innocent is a novel written by Scott Turow. The fiction will explore various themes, such as sexuality, politics, obsession and the limits of love.
The distribution is still unknown, but the fiction will be broadcast on the Apple TV + platform, which offers another series adapted from a film with Harrison Ford, The Mosquito Coast. Led by Justin Theroux, it has also been renewed for a season 2.
